The OTRC Research Consortium includes some of the United States’ largest companies as well as small consulting firms. The Consortium was formed when the center opened in 1988 as a means for industry to participate in OTRC’s research initiatives.
The purposes of industry participation are:
- To demonstrate industry’s sincere interest in the Center program.
- To assist in identifying and guiding the research program toward problems amenable to academic research and of significant value to the industry.
- To provide hands-on experience for the students and to develop close associations between the faculty, students and industry experts.
- To promptly and efficiently transfer the technology to the industry for its development and application.
